Day TWO : Upsets aplenty as the quarters are decided

Day Two of the Dunlop British Junior Open was be another busy one as all ten draws were brought down to the quarter-final stage.

It was a day of upsets all round, with the Girls’ U19 the only draw with all eight seeds still in place – although there was drama there too –  and some major casualties including England’s B15 hopefuls Jonah Bryant and Abdallah Eissa – top seed and last year’s B13 champion respectively.

Team USA continued to impress with a number of upsets giving them a clutch of quarter-finalists – although Ireland’s Sam Buckley dramatically denied them another B19 scalp – and while Egypt and Malaysia both lost seeded players to upsets they also produced upsets of their own.

Pakistan’s boys were in impressive form as they advanced at the top and bottom of the B15 draw with Muhammad Ammad holding off Bryant’s comeback to join second seed Muhammad Hamza Khan in the last eight, and Noor Zaman advancing in the B17.
