Day two set for blockbuster matchups as competition intensifies

Day two at the 2026 Alpha Bravo Construction British Junior Open will see the draws whittled down to the quarter-final stage in Birmingham.

BU15 top seed Hassan Abdelgalil of Egypt begins the day on the University of Birmingham’s show courts bright and early with a 09:00 duel against [17/32] Szymon Cienciala of Poland.

Thereafter, the no.1 seeds in the U19 draws will take to the stage — Egypt’s Adam Hawal playing [17/32] Lars Gertsen of USA at 11:40 and the sensational Anahat Singh of India facing Egypt’s [9/16] Malak Elmaraghy at 16:20.

Egypt’s Farouk Mohamed will play Canada’s Shaan Jolly in round three of the BU17 at 11:30, with compatriot Habiba Rizk, the GU17 title favourite, preparing for a lunchtime clash with USA’s 9/16 seed Chelsea Chen.

Lower down the age categories, the GU11 event begins at Edgbaston Priory with no.1 seed Talia Eslam of Egypt starting her campaign against [17/32] Arian Almoula of India at 10:25.
