Entries are now open for the 2026 Alpha Bravo Construction British Junior Open (BJO), set to take place from 2-6 January.
Next year’s tournament will be especially momentous, marking the 100th anniversary of the most prestigious event in junior squash worldwide.
Welcoming over 700 players from more than 50 countries, the BJO continues to be a proving ground for the next generation of squash stars. Many of today’s elite professionals first came to prominence here, including Egypt’s Nour ElSherbini, the World no.2 and England’s Mohamed ElShorbagy, former World Champion.
With competition categories for boys and girls from Under 11s through to Under 19s, the BJO offers young athletes the unique opportunity to test themselves against the world’s best – whether they’re rising through the junior ranks or on the verge of transitioning to the senior circuit.
Mark Williams, CEO of England Squash, said:
“We’re thrilled to open entries for the 2026 Alpha Bravo Construction British Junior Open as we prepare to celebrate a century of this world-renowned tournament.
“For 100 years, the BJO has provided a stage where future legends are born, and this year’s centenary edition promises to be the most exciting yet. We’re proud to welcome the world’s best young squash players to Birmingham for what will be a truly historic event full of top-class competition, unforgettable moments and global camaraderie.
“This is more than just a tournament, it’s a celebration of a legacy that has shaped the sport for generations.”
Event Director Mike Edwards added, “We’re thrilled to welcome players, coaches, and supporters from around the world to be part of this landmark event.
“With so much talent on display and the chance to compete on an international stage, there’s never been a more exciting time to take part. We encourage talented junior players to enter and make their mark on this special centenary edition.

The 2026 BJO will be held across five premier squash venues in the West Midlands: University of Birmingham Sport and Fitness, Edgbaston Priory Club, West Warwickshire Sports Complex, Sutton Coldfield Squash Club, and – new for 2026 – Stourbridge Lawn Tennis and Squash Club.
